The Avogadro constant Np, has a value of 6.02214 X 10 ° mol . It is the number of elementary units in one mole. Avogadro s law (hypothesis) states that at a fixed temperature and pressure, the volume of a gas is directly proportional to the amount of gas and that equal volumes of different gases, compared under identical conditions of temperature and pressure, contain equal numbers of molecules. [Pg.1366]
