Enhancement of crystallinity of the polymer grown on cooling from the mixed nematic melt was even more pronounced for a polymer such as AZA-9, which by itself either does not crystallize at all, or crystallizes very poorly, regardless of molecular mass. Thus, in AZA-9 the heat of c rystallization increased from nil to 22.6 J/g of polymer (Mn=4,000) upon addition of 10% PAA (no annealing scanning rates 10 /min). ... 

The linear isomer 3 can be synthesized in a different approach (Figure 20.3). Its linear molecular stmcture was confirmed by singlestructure analyses (Figure 20.5) [1, 2]. The compound 3 has a blue shade and is not produced industrially.
