Model Procedure Template

First approach mode This mode is for a simple interface that requires only an amino acid sequence as input data. The server automatically selects suitable templates and the modeling procedure starts if at least one modeling template with a sequence identity of more than 25% are available. [Pg.627]

The model procedures contained in this section can form the basis of an integrated TSCA compHance program. If your company has a system in place, such as ISO 9000, you should follow the design used by yom company to the extent possible. Under each heading in the template below, we explain how the sections of the template could be used. In the model procedures themselves, we provide in itahcs explanations of the procedures and some common choices. To be truly effective, the procedures need to be adapted to fit your company, in terms of organization, business systems, style, and culture. There is no one size fits aU possibility. [Pg.695]

At the start of the development, it had been intended use an expert system shell to implement this tool, however, after careful consideration, it was concluded that this was not the optimum strategy. An examination procedure can be considered as consisting of two parts fixed documentary information and variable parameters. For the fixed documentary information, a hypertext-like browser can be incorporated to provide point-and-click navigation through the standard. For the variable parameters, such as probe scanning paths, the decisions involved are too complex to be easily specified in a set of rules. Therefore a software module was developed to perfonn calculations on 3D geometric models, created fi om templates scaled by the user. [Pg.766]

Figure 3 Model building by Modeller [31], First, spatial restraints in the form of atomic distances and dihedral angles are extracted from the template stmcture(s). The alignment is used to determine equivalent residues between the target and the template. The restraints are combined into an objective function. Finally, the model for the target is optimized until a model that best satisfies the spatial restraints is obtained. This procedure is technically similar to the one used in structure determination by NMR.
