Two types of strategy are used to obtain enantiopure MOCNs. The one employed most often consists of introducing the chiral information into the assembly ligand of the metallic ion network. The molecules most frequently used for this are binaphthol derivatives, tartrate ions, polypyridines substituted with chiral groups and amino acids.
