Mixed-valence ferrocene systems,

Pittmaim and Grube investigated the electrical and photoelectric properties of copoly(A -vinylcarbazole, vinylferrocene) in the presence of TNF and in which Fe(II) was partial oxidised with DDQ. They found by independent oxidation experiments that TNF does not complex or oxidise the ferrocene moiety nor DDQ the carbazole rinp. The semi-conductivity was due to a mixed Fe(Il)/Fe(Ill) valence stem. As a photoconductor, the copolymer was less active than PNVC/TNF systems of similar loading. Other copolymers of iV-vinylcarbaz(de and vinyl monomers... [Pg.156]
