Mixed hexakisadduct

Using the template mediation technique, mixed hexakisadducts with different types of addends are also easily available [26]. Here the precursor is not but a adduct with an incomplete octahedral addition pattern. The possible structures of mixed hexakisadducts with two different addends in octahedral positions are depicted in Figure 10.12.

The synthesis of mixed [3 3] hexakisadducts of type I (Figure 10.12) requires trisadduct precursors with an e,e,e-addition pattern. A few examples for the synthesis ofenantiomericaUy pure [3 3]-hexakisadducts have been discussed in Section 10.2.2. An additional example is the dendritic adduct 59 [67]. This was obtained as a racemic mixture by threefold cyclopropanation of the trisadduct +8. Regioselective approaches to [3 3]-hexakisadducts of type 11 are presented below (Sechon 10.3.3).
