Mineralization of dalapon

Dalapon is a small, water-soluble aliphatic compound that is completely degraded to inorganic compounds (is mineralized) by microorganisms in soil, probably after some adaptation of the microflora. [Pg.172]

Trichloroacetic acid (CCl3COOH) is also mineralized, but at a slower rate. Note that such compounds may contaminate groundwater. The number of microorganisms in groundwater is low, and thus after-leakage degradation will be much lower. [Pg.172]
