Rate data are shown in Arrhenius form in Figure 3 for Millmerran chars produced at 585 and 610 C. The data for these chars are combined into a single set (as are the data for the chars produced at 780 and 800 C presented in Table II). 

The activation energy increases and the reactivity of Millmerran chars decreases with increasing pyrolysis temperature. 

Earlier work in this laboratory has shown that combustion of chars of low and high-rank coals occurs under regime II conditions ( ), l e under circumstances where pore diffusion as well as chemical reaction exercises marked rate control Hie values of the activation energy for the Millmerran and Wandoan chars 20...
