1-Methylimidazole, ligand structure

In the same way the N-methylimidazole ligand (the group below the iron atom) shows a two-fold disorder with respect to where the methyl group is located. The model compound has pseudo-four-fold symmetry and the rotational disorder can have no effect on the molecular packing. This is especially evident looking at the 02 buried in the molecule see Fig. 19.4 for the complete structure. [Pg.589]

Varying ratios of the ligands 7V-(2-thiophenyl)-2,5-dimethylpyrrole and V-methylimidazole were used to form tetrahedral zinc complexes with S4, S3N, and S2N2 coordination spheres. X-ray structural analyses and IR spectra were recorded for all compounds and the relevance to zinc finger proteins was discussed. The comparison to cobalt and cadmium structures showed only minor differences, supporting the theory that changes on substituting these metals into zinc proteins would be minor.538... [Pg.1194]

The zinc bis(tetraseleno) anion, [Zn(Se4)2]2-, has been crystallized with a number of cations, synthesized by a variety of methods, and its reactivity studied.581-584 The compound (hexaseleno) (tetraseleno)zinc (64) was synthesized from zinc acetate in the presence of lithium polyselenide and structurally characterized, demonstrating seven-membered and flve-membered ZnSen rings.585 Mixed donor neutral monomers have also been formed with imidazole A-donor ligands, ZnSe4 (A-methylimidazole)2.553... [Pg.1198]
