Methods of Free-Radical Polymerization

There are various ways to carry out free-radical polymerizatiou. Here we meutiou a few of them  

Solution polymerization— synthesis with (inert) solvent 

Precipitation polymerization—using solvent (such as methauol) to precipitate out the polymer 

Suspension polymerization—adding an initiator to the suspension in aqueous 

Emulsion polymerization—adding an initiator (such as potassium persulfate) to the emulsion of water-insoluble monomers (such as styrene) in aqueous soap solution
