Methicillin resistant Staphyloccus aureus

Unfortunately the bacteria have also adapted to become resistant to various types of penicillin. New areas of research and plant searches are being undertaken to find a completely new way of attacking bacteria, particularly the very resistant ones of methicillin-resistant Staphyloccus aureus (MRSA). Recently a newspaper5 reported a new line of research scientists have managed to extract, from rock pool slime, a chemical that stops dead MRSA. Anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory drugs are being sought from the same source.
