Metha and Mohal

A simple and conceptually different strategy was devised by Metha and Mohal, exploiting a norbomyl framework as a useful cyclopentanoid equivalent [16]. The key operation in this approach was the setting up of a Grob-like bottom-to-top fragmentation of suitably crafted norbomane derivatives unveiling the cyclopentanoid motif with its integral functionality complement.
