Metallo-homopolymer

After publication of our work,22 new self-assembled Zn(II) terpyridine polymers were prepared and used in PLEDs. Following the methodology reported by us, Lin et al. similarly prepared a series metallopolymers by self-assembled reaction containing Zn(II) terpyridine units, including a metallo-homopolymer and metallo-u/t-copolymer containing carbazole pendants attached to the C-9 position of fluorene by long alkyl spacers.27... 

Exxon said the copolymers are more remarkable than the homopolymers. When ethylene is added, the initial chain-breaking reaction reverses and longer chains form again. The copolymers combine all three tailored molecular distributions — molecular weight, composition and tacticity— whereas the broad MWD homopolymers display control of only molecular weight, and tacticity distribution. These dual-metallo-cene PPs are a very recent development. 

This book fills an important gap, since for the first time it is entirely devoted to condensation TPEs. The following considerations place landmarks of the new chemistry in this field, rather than browsing the recent improvements of the well established TPEs. Several new techniques appeared quite recently they are already patented, if not applied, and are very promising. This is the case of the metallo-supramolecular block copolymers [189], which result from the chelation of complexing group end-capped oligomers with different metal derivatives and the homopolymers and copolymers prepared from metal-containing macrocycles [190,191].
