Metallation of Alkylbenzenes and Alkylnaphthalenes

The 1 1 molar mixture of BuLi and t-BuOK has been used by Schlosser and Hartmann for the preparation of 2-naphthylmethylpotassium from 2-methyl-naphthalene [5].
