Metal-oxygen polymers synthesis

Polymers containing Hf(TV) in the main chain or side chains can be prepared by any of the known processes for synthesis of metal-containing polymers. An attractive approach is the polycondensation of dicyclo-pentadienyl derivatives of hafnium(IV) with diols or oxygen-free diacetylenic hgands. An alternative approach is polymerization of the Hf(TV) monomers with (meth)acrylate and fumarate groups, synthesized for the first time in this study. We investigated the thermolysis of the synthesized... [Pg.261]

In the early 1970s, Carraher and coworkers developed a number of different organometallic polymers containing metal-oxygen, metal-sulfur, and metal-nitrogen bonds in the polymer backbone. For example, a number of polyethers, " thioethers, amines, " esters, and oximes of titanium, zirconium, and hafnium were prepared. Scheme 1 shows the synthesis of haftiium, zirconium, and... [Pg.148]

We have already referred to the Mo/Ru/S Chevrel phases and related catalysts which have long been under investigation for their oxygen reduction properties. Reeve et al. [19] evaluated the methanol tolerance, along with oxygen reduction activity, of a range of transition metal sulfide electrocatalysts, in a liquid-feed solid-polymer-electrolyte DMFC. The catalysts were prepared in high surface area by direct synthesis onto various surface-functionalized carbon blacks. The intrinsic... [Pg.319]

Polyacetylene attracts constant attention as an excellent simple model of the polyconjugated polymer on which the main optical and electrical properties can be verified. The possibility of achieving metallic conductivities by doping opens real perspectives of practical application of conducting polymers. The complication is the strong interaction with oxygen. The reproducibility of results strongly depends on the synthesis and measurement conditions. [Pg.28]
