Metal bridge complexes ternary complex formation

One of the major roles of metals in non-redox biological systems appears to be to act as a bridge between, for example, an enzyme and its substrate. Many papers have appeared during the past two years in which evidence is presented for the formation of such ternary complexes in model systems. We shall take the feasibility of this bridging role for granted and discuss primarily the work which involves the macromolecules themselves. [Pg.246]
