Metal-ammines formation

Bjerrum, J. Metal Ammine Formation in Aqueous Solution. Copenhagen P. Haase and Son 1941. [Pg.46]

Other reactions leading to NH4 removal from soil solution besides microbial nitrogen assimilation, metal-ammine formation, or adsorption onto mineral surfaces, involve NH3 fixation by incorporating it as NH2 in aromatic rings of humic acids (quinone) followed with aromatic ring condensation. [Pg.330]

The larger the value of the constant is, the more stable the complex (Table 12.11). The metal-ammine formation constants Ksl and Kst are known as stepwise formation constants. Stepwise formation constants1 could be used to estimate overall formation constants. For example,... [Pg.461]

In 1948, Jannik Bjerrum became the director of KLA and professor at the University of Copenhagen. His dissertation, from 1937, was entitled Metal Ammine Formation in Aqueous Solutions. Bjerrum was a prominent complex chemist, but he never became comfortable with quantum mechanics. He did not make a secret of this, however. [Pg.7]
