Dithizone (H2DZ, diphenylthiocarbazone, 3-mercapto-l,5-diphenylformazane) is one of the foremost organic spectrophotometric reagents [83-85]. It provides the basis of sensitive methods for the determination of Pb, Zn, Cd, Ag, Pd, Hg, Cu, Bi, and other metals. It has often been used in the extractive separation of traces of metals before their determination.
