Mellons Facet Emerald System

Carnegie Mellon s Yalue Trace (VT), a dataflow / controlflow graph. 

Uses ASAP scheduling, calling it AEAP (As Early As Possible), and applying it to one basic block at a time. 

builds a compatibility graph, with one node per variable, and an edge connecting variables that can be assigned to the same register (variables that, are live in different control steps). Then finds the minimum number of cliques, thus minimizing the number of registers.
