A sad reflection of the social condition in the United States is the fact that accidents, homicide, and suicide rank as the first, second, and third most common causes of death, respectively, in the 15-24 age group. In the 24-44 age group, accidents still rank as the primary cause of death, with suicide now occupying the fourth position, followed by homicide in fifth place.
