Measures of the Explosion Protection

In accordance with the regulations of the Directives 99/92/EC [2] and 94/9/EC [1] the fundamental principle of the explosion protection must be implemented in order to maintain the explosion protection, that is the protection against hazards by explosions of explosive atmospheres. This fundamental principle covers three essential groups of measures of the explosion protection  [Pg.144]

Classification as per EN 60079-20-1 [20] Classification as per EN IS016852 [21] Examples with MESG values (mm) [Pg.145]

1) measures, which prevent or restrict the formation of hazardous, explosive atmosphere (primary explosion protection)-, [Pg.145]

3) If explosions cannot be excluded for sure, technical measures which limit the effects of an explosion to a harmless extent (no personal injuries, tolerable damages to property) (tertiary or constructive explosion protection). [Pg.145]
