Measurements in Pattern Space Overview

In this Chapter some often used distance measurements in a d-dimen- sional space are summarized. [Pg.25]

The most frequently used distance measurements are derived from the general Minkowski distance [Pg.25]

The Hamming distance can also be written in another form C3533  [Pg.26]

The Hamming distance has some disadvantages for vectors with only a few components containing 1 s. An alternative is the Tanimoto distance which is a normalized Hamming distance C3983. [Pg.26]
