Measurement of texture profile using laser sensors

2 Measurement of texture profile using laser sensors [Pg.734]

The use of laser sensor devices provides the ability of rapid and safe determination of the pavement macro-texture in terms of MPD without traffic disruption. The test procedure [Pg.734]

The MPD measured in accordance to CEN EN ISO 13471-1 (2004) or ASTM E 1845 (2009) may be transformed to an estimated texture depth (ETD) by using the following equation  [Pg.735]

As for the CTMeter, it has been found that the average of the MPD values for the eight segments using the CTMeter is extremely highly correlated with the MTD and can replace the volumetric measurement for determination of the MTD (ASTM E 2157 2009). The recommended relationship for the estimate of the MTD from the MPD by the CTMeter is as follows (ASTM E 2157 2009)  [Pg.736]

It is reminded that the mean (texture) profile depth (MPD) is a necessary parameter for calculating the SRI (see Section 16.3.6). [Pg.736]
