MATERIALS TESTE zinc blende

The development and testing of a suitable inhibitor program of alkaline zinc/stabilized phosphate combination was undertaken in the United States. The conditions for the trial unfortunately required the product to be similar to the existing vendor s program (a me-too" product). In addition, the formulation had to be fairly simple, as the raw material blending was to take place within the region by relatively inexperienced people (which saved on the cost of effectively importing water). [Pg.298]

The PEO-PVA-H2O alkaline SPE was further developed and applied in the Zn/air and Ni/MH batteries [35], It was found that the new alkaline SPE with the composition of PEO PVA = 2 8 had the higher ionie eonductivity of 0.0608 S cm. For the Ni/MH battery, after 40 cycles of charge/discharge tests, the Ni(OH)2 aetive material still had an average capacity density of 250 mAh g. However, the PVA-PEO blend could form a porous and brittle structure membrane. This is not favorable for Zn/air battery application, because the zinc dendrite would penetrate through the air cathode and cause short-circuit dming the discharge. [Pg.452]

The behavior of the HDPE-rich materials in tensile tests should be more complicated, since the addition of compatibilizer will not only strengthen interfadal interactions, but also affect the continuous phase. The tensile strength and elongation at break drop with the addition of compatibihzer at first and then increase, eventually to values above the uncompatibilized blend. We do not imderstand the reason for the initial decrease, although the behavior occurs in materials with and without zinc. Overall the modulus seems to be constant with compatibihzer contort and there is no consistoit, statistically significant difference between materials with and without zinc in the HDPE/PA6 80/20 blends. [Pg.762]
