The basic equation for mass transfer by molecular diffusion is Pick s law [Pg.311]

Ca is the molar concentration of the diffusing component, and Dab is the molecular dilfusity. [Pg.311]

This equation is analogous to Fourier s law for heat transfer by conduction  [Pg.311]

It will be seen that there is a synergy between the two equations, pCpT the heat content per imit volume being equivalent to Ca, the molar concentration of the diffusing component. [Pg.311]
