Manifold angle

Perhaps a more common sheeting die is the so-called coat hanger die, presented in detail in Chapter 3. For a given manifold angle a we must determine the manifold radius profile, R(s), such that a uniform sheet or film is extruded through the die lips. 

In the absence of damping (and in units where ( b = 1), the invariant manifolds bisect the angles between the coordinate axes. The presence of damping destroys this symmetry. As the damping constant increases, the unstable manifold rotates toward the Agu-axis, the stable manifold toward the A<7u-axis. In the limit of infinite damping the invariant manifolds coincide with...

The pipe distributor (often called a sparger) differs from the other two distributor types because it consists of pipes with distribution holes in them that are inserted into the bed. This type of distributor will have solids below it that are not fluidized. If this is not acceptable for a process, then this type of distributor cannot be used. However, the pipe distributor has certain advantages. It does not require a large plenum, the holes in the pipe can be positioned at any angle, and it can be used in cases when multiple gas injections are required in a process. A common type of pipe distributor is the multiple-pipe (manifold sparger) grid shown in Fig. 17-12. 

Freiburg and Pittsburgh the prominent peaks near the center of mass for He (215) + Ne at = 89 and 113 meV in Fig. 52 are shown to originate from a 2pHd state and the wide-angle bump in the TOF angular distribution of Fig. 55, from the 2p53d,3s manifold.

Cesium Gun In-Line on a Magnetic Sector A cesium gun was mounted in the source manifold oriented so that the ion beam just misses the entrance aperture of an MS-50 (37). The target, coated with sample, is the inside of a truncated cone. The grazing angle of incidence was also advantageous in producing more secondary ions. 

Example 12.2 Coat Hanger Die Design We specify the coat hanger die manifold radius along the entire width of the die, if the manifold axis is straight and makes an angle a = 5° with the x coordinate (see Fig. 12.29). The slit opening is set at H — 0.05 cm, the half-width W = 100 cm, and the Power Law index of the polymer melt n — 0.5. 

The form of the bonding HOs may be, nevertheless, specified on the basis of the orthonormality relations for the HOs, which are consequences of the group 50(4) structure of the hybridization manifold. According to eq. (3.61) the interhybrid angle for the bonding HOs is given by ...
