Making your information stand

You can leverage your presentation effort by having something to send to interested individuals who could not attend. The handout connects you and your presentation to anyone who receives it. Accordingly, and as noted earlier, make your handout a stand alone document. That is, include on the title page, your name, affiliation, and contact information plus the name, location, sponsor, and date of the event at which you spoke. In other words, enable anyone who receives the handout, whether or not they were at the presentation, to easily contact you. [Pg.107]

Films that end up advocating a position or idea—that these chemicals shouldn t have been dumped, that law enforcement used too much force, that laws are being broken—can be as hard-hitting or irreverent or personal as you want. But as you make them, you want to remain open to new and even conflicting information, whether or not it ends up on screen. The more effectively you can present your case, the better the film will stand up to scrutiny. [Pg.41]

Preparing handouts for the kinesthetic and visual learners. Make sure that they are stand-along documents, that is, they include the title of your presentation, your name, affiliation, contact information, date, and the event. [Pg.102]
