Magnetic structure canted antiferromagnetic

UTX compounds with Caln2 structure. CAF denotes a canted antiferromagnet, AF an antiferromagnet, F a ferromagnet rC N the temperature of magnetic ordering p.s the spontaneous moment geff 6p, and Xo the CW parameters y the linear coefficient of specific heat.

The other pure R-metals show diverse magnetic behaviour including low-temperature ferromagnetism followed by antiferromagnetism at higher temperatures and also canted magnetic structures. One would therefore expect RI compounds to show a similar variety of magnetic behaviour. 

One of the great triumphs of neutron diffraction was the determination of antiferromagnetic structures antiparallel spin arrays had been hypothesized from susceptibility measurements but diffraction patterns provided the first direct demonstration. Not all magnetic structures consist of simple collinear spin arrays. Some possess canted...
