Kozack et al. found from Brownian dynamics simulations that the rates f association of lyzozyme with the Hy-HEL-5 antibody are sensitive to mutation of charged residues near the binding site and changes in ionic strength. For these studies, the motion of lysozyme was simulated under the influence of the electrostatic potential derived from a full-atom model of the antibody. Lyzozyme itself was modeled either by a positively charged sphere representing two Arg residues or by an asymmetric dumbbell the smaller sphere of which represented the two Arg residues. [Pg.152]
