Lithium metal is sold in the form of either ingots, rod, wire, shot, sheet, special shapes or dispersions in both a high-sodium and low-sodium grade (LCA, 1968). In addition to the companies previously noted producing lithium metal, it has also been made by duPont in the USA Yahagi Iron Co in Nagoya, Japan Metaux Speciaux SA in Plombieres St. Marcel, Savoie, France China the former USSR, and various other companies (US Bur.
