We anticipated a similar outcome for the reaction of 1 with the lithium enamide 13 this would have led to the formation of the insertion product E. We suggest that E was formed in the hrst instance but readily extruded LiOMe, generating the azadisilacyclopropane F (Fig. 2), which in turn underwent insertion of a further molecule of 1 to yield the azatrisilacyclobutane 14.
