Si liquid NMR spectral studies have been carried out during the hydrothermal synthesis of Sn-sil-1 (MFI structure) molecular sieves. Two different methods were used for the synthesis of Sn- with MFI structure and they were distinguished on the basis of Si liquid NMR studies. The method in which tintetrachloride was added to tetraethylorthosilicate followed by the addition of tetrapropylammonium hydroxide was found to be the best.
