Liquid-solid segregation filtration

Separations of this type ate always performed following some other contacting operation, often an equilibrium separation, such as, entrainment separation following distillation, filtration after crystallization, decantation after liquid-liquid extraction, and collection of solids from air exiting a dryer. Sometimes, rite phase segregation 1 performed by rite equilibrium separator hardware, but most frequently a separate piece of equipment is used. 

Physical treatment which requires the segregation of the waste into its components. Such processes include solid-liquid separation using techniques including coagulation, centrifugation, sedimentation and filtration.
