Linkers traceless, photolabile

This chemistry was repeated with a traceless photolabile linker.60 The desired biphenyl was formed, but the couplings gave side products, and all yields of the desired biphenyl were lower than 30%. 

Other notable traceless approaches are the arylboronic acid linker 141 by Carboni et al. [138], the bismuthane linker 142 by Ruhland et al. [139] and the photolabile thiohydroxamic acid linker 143 by Routledge et al. [140]... 

A photolabile thiol support 6d has been reported that can be used for anchoring reactive halides such as benzylic bromides [268,269]. After synthetic steps, photolysis at 350 nm in MeCN releases products with a hydrogen atom at the former point of attachment to the linker (which is defined as a traceless linker).
