Lines for copper

Magnesium carbonate, MgCO., occurs in nature as the mineral magnesite. It is used as a basic lining for copper convertors and open-hearth steel furnaces (Chap. 26). [Pg.190]

The most sensitive analytical line for copper is at 324.754 nm with a characteristic concentration of Co = 0.018 mg/L in an air / acetylene flame, which is about a factor of two higher sensitivity than with LS AAS, and a linear working range up to about Ajnax = 2.4 mg/L. The characteristic mass at this line, using a transversely heated graphite tube atomizer, is about mo = 6pg. The main resonance line of copper is within an absorption band of the PO molecule with a band head at 324.62 nm (refer to Section 7.2.14), which has to be considered in the presence of high phosphate matrices, mainly in GF AAS. [Pg.108]
