Limiting conductance of univalent chlorides

To calculate the limiting values at infinite dilution of the followung quantities in aqueous solution at 25 °C [Pg.262]

Measurements of equivalent conductance A and transport number t in aqueous solutions at 25 °C have been made over the range of concentrations c from 1(H mole H to 10 mole H. Interpolated smoothed values of equivalent conductances (Shedlovsky, J. Amer. Chem. Soc. 1932, 54, 1411) and directly measured values of the transport number tr of the anion (Macinnes, Shedlovsky, and Longsworth, J. Amer. Chem. Soc. 1932, 54, 2758) are given in table 1. [Pg.262]

We shall use the following symbols among others 1 equivalent conductance of electroK te, [Pg.263]

According to Onsager s theor the equivalent conductance 1 of a uni-univalent electroh te at high dilutions is related to the value. .lo at infinite dilution by [Pg.263]

An analogous procedure is convenient for transport numbers. We define by (Shedlovsky, J. Chem. Phys. 1938, 6, 845) [Pg.263]
