Limit, short term training

Alternative PPV equipment, designed and used for short-term PPV in non-lCU locations, but suitable for definitive mechanical ventilation during mass casualty events, should be considered. This equipment is available, less expensive, and more easily stockpiled than full feature mechanical ventilators. Alternative PPV equipment must be easy for non-critical care staff, with limited training and experience, to operate, as it is likely that they will be called on to help manage patients with respiratory failure in a mass casualty setting. Because it may also have to be used outside of an ICU, alternative PPV equipment must have appropriate alarm capabilities, battery power, and the ability to function with either high or low pressure oxygen sources. 

May assess only the short-term site of application or immediate structural alterations produced by agents however, specific in v/Vo tests may only be intended to evaluate acute local effects, so this may be a purposeful test system limitation Require stringent technician training and monitoring (particularly because of the subjective nature of evaluation)... 

It is common practice to employ consultants or contractors for limited times on short-term specific projects. Consultants or contractors must follow the same requirements for personnel hygiene and must have the training necessary to perform their duties. 

From a health and safety point of view, ozone is a strong irritant, and uncontrolled exposure may result in inflammation of eyes, nose, throat, and lungs. Limits for ozone exposure have been set by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Here, the legal maximum concentration for an 8h continuous exposure is O.lmg/L, whereas the limit for short-term exposure is 0.2mg/L for 10min (Khadre et al., 2001). Where ozone is used, the staff should be well trained and use proper ozone safety monitors.
