Light Yield and Noise Measurements

The crystals tested consisted of small cylindrical pieces and two full-sized blocks, the dimensions of which are listed in Table 5.1. The crystals were wrapped in many layers of 75 pm thick teflon film, using up to 24 (17) layers for small (large) crystals. In some of the measurements, we preserved an air gap between the wrapping and the crystal by insertion of thin clear plastic netting with a 1 cm x 1 cm mesh. [Pg.123]
