Liebermann-Storch-Morawski Reaction

Maleic acid resins give a wine red to olive brown color in the Liebermann-Storch-Morawski reaction (see Section 6.1.1). 

As an initial laboratory test, the Liebermann-Storch-Morawski color reaction test outlined under Section 6.1.1 may be applied. The test is highly sensitive, but not very specific.
