Lead Acetate Subacetate Solution

Copper and Iron, — On acidifying 10 cc. of lead subacetate solution with 2 cc. of dilute acetic acid, and adding potassium ferrocyanide solution, a precipitate forms which should have a pure white color. [Pg.130]

Lead Glycocholate, (CieHnNOg) Pb( ), is formed as a white, flocculent precipitate, when solution of lead subacetate is added to a solution of a glycocholate or of glycocholic acid with the-neutral acetate the precipitation does not occur in the presence of an excess of acetic acid. It is soluble in alcohol, and in an excess of lead acetate solution. [Pg.285]

The plumbi carboma (U. S, Br.), or white lead or ccrusc, is a basic carbonate, (PbCO,) PbH,0,—774.7—mixed with varjing proportions of other basic carl nates. It is usually prepared by the action of CO. on a solution of the subacetate, prepared by the action of acetic acid on Po and PbO. It is a heavy, white powder insoluble in H,0, except in the presence of CO, soluble in a< a with efiervescenoe and decomposed by heat into CO, and PbO. [Pg.132]
