Some further diterpenoid esters related to lathyrol have been isolated from the irritant, co-carcinogenic seed oil of the caper spurge, Euphorbia lathyris. 

A group of diterpenes with the skeleton (1). L. occur mainly in various Euphorbiaceae, examples, e. g., eu-phohelionone (3), jolkinol C (4), lathyrol (5), and tirucalicin (6). 

Curculathyrane A (2) can be obtained from Jatmpha curcus. Lathyrane is formally a 6,10-cyclocasbane. The diacetate-benzoate and the triacetate of lathyrol are isolated from the seed oil and latex of Euphorbia lathyris in which the mixed esters of 7-hydroxylathy-rol and 6,17-epoxylathyrol also occur.
