Late life-cycle system safety

Late life cycle system safety efforts may draw more attention as some of the major systems age. A classic example is the commercial aviation fleet. As expensive aircraft approach the end of their projected service life, new system safety studies may be required. Other significant late life cycle system safety efforts may be required to address the demilitarization of chemical munitions, disposal of nuclear weapons, and the aging of major structures. The approach suggested in Part 2 addresses life cycle system safety. [Pg.48]
