Lanthanum-copper-oxide-based systems

Following the discovery of HTSC in La2Cu04 doped with Ba in the lanthanum site (Bednorz and Mueller 1986), work describing HTSC with Sr substitution in the La site was reported. The parent La2Cu04 compound (abbreviated to 214 ) has a distorted K2NiF4 structure, with an orthorhombic unit cell (a = [Pg.208]

Doped A2BO4 perovskites of the type A2-xA Bi 3 B 04 and doped ABO3 perovskites of the type Ai-j A Bi-yB Os have been attempted where A and A = La, Sr, K and Cs and B and = Mn, Co, Cr, Cu, V and Mg. La2 Sr +Cu04 and La2Cuo.8Alo.2O4 have been tested for the decomposition of [Pg.209]

N-oxides (Misono et al 2001). Substitutions change the Cu s formal oxidation number or state. It is believed that oxygen from N-oxides is adsorbed on the copper surface followed by an electron transfer. However, the mechanism for nitrogen oxide combustion on these oxides is not fully understood. [Pg.210]
