Key to symbols used in the tables

The meanings of the symbols employed in the tables, principally in the column headed notes , are given below. [Pg.221]

The symbols, g, h, i, j and k concern the single-valued energy release calculated from the width of a metastable peak. In some papers, it is not clear how the width of the peak has been defined and such papers have been left unmarked (i.e. not marked by g, h, i, j or k). Similarly, the symbols 1, m and n concern metastable peaks and the method of allowing for instrumental broadening [29, 610]. In some papers, it is not clear what, if anything, has been done and those papers are not marked 1, m or n. [Pg.221]

The method of ionization employed is electron impact unless there is an indication to the contrary (symbols t, u, v and w). [Pg.221]

1 Correction for main beam width applied as difference of squares, m Main beam width subtracted from metastable peak width, n No correction for main beam. [Pg.222]

Energy releases for the different components of a composite metastable peak. [Pg.222]
