Yang et al. employed an efficient, recoverable Merrifield resin-supported phenanthroline-Cu(I) catalyst 20 (Figure 4) for the condensation of 2-halobenzamines with isothiocyanates to produce 2-aminobenzothiazoles (Scheme 60) [82]. The catalyst was a pale yellow powder.
