Isomerization with nickel sulfide catalyst

It is common for catalysts to be deliberately poisoned by sulfur to increase trans-isomerization and to provide products with sharper melting points. Up to 2-3% sulfur relative to the nickel content is added to trans-selective catalysts. However, the quantity of catalyst used must be increased because sulfided catalysts are less active. [Pg.96]
