ISIM Commands

Unless otherwise indicated, spaces are ignored in ISIM commands and program statements. 

When awaiting input from the user, ISIM is always in one of two modes  

Some commands (e.g., APPEND) switch to INPUT mode. To switch to COMMAND mode, type or command. 

Note Commands may be abbreviated to their initial letter except where otherwise indicated.

A summary of ISIM commands is found below. The ISIM manual contains more details on writing models in ISIM and on the numerical methods that are used in the simulations. It can be obtained from Prof. John L. Program THERM solves the dynamic model equations. The initial values of concentration and temperature in the reactor can be changed after each run using the ISIM interactive commands. The plot statement causes a composite phase-plane graph of concentration versus temperature to be drawn. Note that for comparison both programs should be used with the same parameter values. 

Following installation, the directory for the ISIM start file must appear in the "path". If necessary edit the C AUTOEXEC. BAT file to include the directory specified in (b) above. It is important that only one path command exists. 

If you need to place the distribution diskette in drive B, proceed as follows Use the DOS "SUBST" command to re-assign the drives so the ISIM disk is in assigned drive A . That is ... 

INTERACT Stop the simulation and pass control to the ISIM monitor. A command may then be issued, and the simulation may be resumed by a GO.
