Phenylethylamine turned out to be rather rare as a constituent in the Convolvulaceae (Eich, unpubhshed results). It was detected in the epigeal vegetative parts of Argyreia nervosa (Burm. f.) Boj., Ipomoea alba L., I. turbinata Lag., and Xenostegia medium (L.) D.F.Austin Staples. Tyramine was identified in Bonamia spectabilis (Choisy) Hall, f., I. eremnobrocha D J.
