We have been investigating an iodination method using iodine-copper(II) acetate and iodine-ammonium cerium(lV) nitrate (CAN) to synthesize iodoletones. These iodoketones are more active than chloro- and bromoketones, and it was found that they are unstable and sensitive to Hght.
