In reality, very few spinels have exactly the normal or inverse structure, and these are called mixed spinels. For soap/alcohol combinations — g will depend not only on the soap counter ion but also on the alcohol/soap ratio. This condition applies for Inverse structures and the water/pentanol/potassium oleate inverse micellar system will be examined for the structure determining ratio in Table I. 

Two classes of ferrospinels occur the magnetic and nonmagnetic. The magnetic are related to the inverse structure and the nonmagnetic to the normal structure.
